A centre of excellence would be established for dairy farms and training in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The centre will be built at a cost of Rs. 44.12 crore.

The Central Government had approved construction of modern dairy farms and training centres at various places in the state. The dairy farms to be built under the centre would have the facility of keeping 400 milch animals along with modern machines.

Purpose of the Centre of Excellence for Dairy:

• The creation of farms would add to the income of farmers and also help in improving the quality of livestock and milk.
• With the help of modern technology, conception techniques in animals would be improved.
• The centre will also help in preventing diseases among animals.
• Farmers will also be provided training in modern dairy farming so that farmers would be able to manage animals on scientific basis.
