The centre has released Rs 64.49 crore for the state under National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). The fund was released for the loss the state suffered during the last winter. The Chief Minister while thanking the centre also added that he has requested the centre to send an assessment team at the earliest to assess the loss suffered by the state in the current monsoon season. The centre had earlier released Rs 312 crore under the NDRF for the loss the state suffered in the 2018 monsoon rains.

33 cloudburst and 391 landslides in the State resulted in the death of 264 persons and a loss of Rs 1,217.29 crores. The State Government has provided Rs 229 crore for carrying restoration and repair works and the state will also submit a memorandum before the Centre so that it could be adequately compensated and restoration work be undertaken
