The Women and Child Development Directorate in Himachal Pradesh has been bestowed with the Skoch Order-of-Merit Award-2019. The Women and Child Development Directorate comes under the State Social Justice and Empowerment Department. It has won the award for its outstanding performance in skill development and for rendering employment to the orphan and abandoned children in various childcare institutes.

The Himachal Pradesh Social Justice and Empowerment department was also presented with Skoch Award for Governance (bronze). Ravinder Singh Guleria, Joint Director of the department, received the award on behalf of the department from the member of the Niti Ayog during a function held in New Delhi on 29th August 2019.
